GalaxyCon Raleigh 2025: A Weekend Packed With Fandom, Fun, and Unforgettable Moments
This July, downtown Raleigh transformed into a fan’s paradise as GalaxyCon 2025 took over the Convention Center—and wow, what a show. From the moment I stepped inside on Thursday, the energy was electric. Every hallway was alive with cosplayers, collectors, gamers, and creators, and by Saturday, the streets outside were buzzing for StreetFest, GalaxyCon’s free outdoor celebration.
A Star-Studded Lineup and Packed Panels
The celebrity roster didn’t disappoint. Fans lined up early for panels featuring big-name actors, legendary voice talent, and comic creators. One of my highlights was a packed Q&A where attendees got to hear candid stories about life on set and behind-the-scenes moments from some of our favorite shows and films. The autograph floor was a constant hum of excitement as fans snagged signatures and selfies.
StreetFest Took It Outside
Saturday’s StreetFest was a showstopper—City Plaza became an open-air carnival of fandom. There were live wrestling matches that had the crowd roaring, food trucks serving everything from local BBQ to vegan treats, and surprise guest appearances that sent waves of cheers through the crowd. The best part? It was totally free, which meant even casual passersby could join in the celebration.
Cosplay Everywhere You Turned
The creativity on display was jaw-dropping. From screen-accurate superhero suits to hilarious mashups (a Mandalorian-Sailor Moon duo stole the show), the cosplay competition proved once again that Raleigh has some of the most talented makers and performers around.
A Boost for the City
Beyond the fandom, GalaxyCon is a major win for Raleigh. Hotels were booked solid, local restaurants were full, and small businesses at the vendor hall got to connect directly with thousands of eager fans. It’s easy to see why the city extended its contract with GalaxyCon through 2031—this event has become a cornerstone of Raleigh’s culture and economy.
GalaxyCon Raleigh 2025 was more than a convention—it was a celebration of creativity, connection, and community. Whether you came for the celebrity panels, the gaming tournaments, or just to wander the massive geek marketplace, there was something for everyone. After four days of nonstop excitement, one thing’s for sure: GalaxyCon is where Raleigh’s fandom truly comes alive.
