This thread is to update everyone on Pre-Order Availability for the SNES Classic. If you find a store that is offering pre-orders or if you have any news on availability please post it here.

Here are the major retailers who will be offering pre-orders. We suggest creating an account with them and getting alerts. In the past couple days Nintendo and Amazon have put pre-orders up but sold out in a matter of minutes. So make sure you sign up for alerts.

Nintendo made an announcement today confirming pre-order will open for SNES later this month. We’ll keep you updated on the actual date and retailers.. but we suspect all the major retailers above will have it.

“We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month. A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.” – Official Nintendo Facebook Page

Well preorders were a joke. On August 22nd all the major retailers offered preorders starting at 3am in the morning.. After just a few minutes all stores were sold out.

Before we even had a chance to post anything they were sold out. Nintendo has said it was producing more units this time around so we don’t end up with the same situation at the NES Classic. However at this point it looks like we are dealing with the same issue.

We will see how many units the retailers get on September 22nd. As of now we are very skeptical there will be enough to go around.
